Why did Quang Ninh roll out this system?
Storms, tornadoes and lightning at sea tend to appear quickly and in a narrow range but with high intensity. After a cruise boat was caught in a sudden storm on Ha Long Bay in July 2025, Quang Ninh province accelerated the rollout of an early-warning system using radar and real-time data to protect fishermen, boat owners and tourists, and to keep Quang Ninh a safe travel destination.
